Local Eatery Hosting Fundraiser For Avon Land Trust

Proceeds of sales on Thursday, Sept. 26, will go to the organization dedicated to acquiring and preserving open space in Avon.

AVON, CT — A meal at one popular, local Mexican eatery Thursday could translate into pristine, preserved parcels courtesy of the Avon Land Trust.

The nonprofit Avon Land Trust is the beneficiary of a fundraising event at Puerto Vallarta in Avon on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 15 West Avon Road, Avon.

A portion of the proceeds from meals (dine-in or takeout) sold between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. that day will go to the land trust.

The organization works to acquire and maintain parcels of land in town so they can remain undeveloped and continue to be used for passive recreation.

"Come out or take out a generous portion of great food, and treat yourself to a generous pour as well," said Avon Land Trust Co-President Rick Dubiel.

"The fundraiser helps the Avon Land Trust maintain our trails, provide amenities like benches and tables and kiosks and maps and signage, and offer hikes and programs for the general public."
