Longtime Avon Coach Elected to State Coaches Hall of Fame
He and nine other individuals will be honored at the 40th annual induction dinner.

AVON, CT — A longtime Avon High School coach is one of 10 individuals who will be honored at the 40th annual Hall of Fame induction dinner of the Connecticut High School Coaches Association, according to an announcement from the CHSCA.
Martin deLivron coached boys soccer for 22 years (1983-2014) and baseball for 37 (1978-2014) at Avon High School. He had 813 total coaching victories: 330-68-4 in soccer; and 483-256 in baseball. His soccer teams won six state championships, in 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1989 and 2001. He had five state runner-up finishes.
His baseball teams won nine conference titles, three in the Northwest Conference and five in the Central Connecticut Conference. They reached the state quarterfinals five times.

deLivron was named Connecticut Coaches Association Soccer Coach of the Year in 1988, National Soccer Coaches Association State Coach of the Year in 2000 and American Baseball Coaches Association Region III Coach of the Year in 1999.
He was honored with a CIAC Baseball Tournament dedication in 2013. He also coached in the New England Collegiate Baseball League with the Torrington Twisters from 1998-2008.
