Man Pleads Guilty In Avon Sexual Assault Case

A Massachusetts man has pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges in connection with a 2015 case.

AVON, CT - A Massachusetts man pleaded guilty Friday to first-degree sexual assault charges, according to the Hartford Courant. Luis Ortiz, 32, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman who had been running on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail in 2015.

He also pleaded guilty to second-degree unlawful restraint and third-degree assault. Ortiz was a driver for a portable toilet company at the time. He allegedly stopped his truck by the trail and assaulted the woman.
