Media's Impact On Avon Topic Of History Podcast

The latest edition of the 'Avon Talks' podcast looks at how Avon has been impacted over the generations by changes in the media.

AVON, CT — The latest edition of the Avon Historical Society's "Avon Talks" history podcast looks at the ever-evolving role of print and digital media locally.

"Since the turn of the 20th century, the media landscape has, once again, begun to rapidly evolve with the advent of radio, video broadcasting, and, eventually, the internet," wrote the society. "This revolutionary change would not escape Avon."

Bruce Deckert, the founder and editor-in-chief of Today Publishing, is the guest in the latest edition of the podcast, which is available on several platforms.

He will "discuss the rapidly transforming landscape of print publishing and media digitization in Avon and the Farmington Valley," wrote the Avon Historical Society.

Avon Talks is a monthly podcast about Avon's history, landmarks, and current events from the Avon Historical Society and the Town of Avon.
