Meditate Away Holiday Stress At Avon Library Event
The free virtual program is Thursday evening and is hosted by a teacher, musician and meditation expert.
AVON, CT — At a time of year when peace on Earth is discussed, but peace at home is rarely achieved, the Avon Free Public Library is hosting a virtual program Thursday to achieve the latter.
The library is hosting an online program called "Inner Peace This Holiday Season Through Meditation"on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.
Participants will be able to join Arlene Samsel, a long-time meditator, as she discusses the extraordinary effect of meditation.

"She will also present a simple, yet powerful meditation technique that will be explained and practiced during the session. This can enrich one’s life on many levels and help with seasonal stress," wrote the library in an announcement.
Samsel has been an elementary school teacher and has also performed publicly as a musician for many years.

In addition, she was director of a camp where she taught children how to meditate and has been meditating for 25 years.
