Memorial Day Parades

Do you love a parade? Enough to parade-hop? We've got a quick roundup of some of the area's Memorial Day celebrations happening on Monday or later.

AVON: The parade will leave at 11 a.m. Monday from 124 Simsbury Road (the ), with a service afterward on the .

BLOOMFIELD: There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Monday at Mountain View Cemetery, then the parade will begin at the corner of Barnard Lane and Bloomfield Avenue at 11:30 a.m. A post-parade ceremony will be held at noon on the Town Green.

CANTON: The parade will step off from Canton Intermediate School at 10 a.m. Monday. A memorial service will be held at the Village Cemetery following the parade.

FARMINGTON: The Unionville parade steps off at 8:30 a.m. Monday, and the town parade leaves at 10:30 a.m.

GRANBY: The parade begins at Geissier’s parking lot on Bank Street at 10 a.m. Monday. Afterward, the Marquis of Granby Fife & Drum Corps and the Symphonic Band will perform at the Center Green.

NEW BRITAIN: The parade starts at Broad and Burritt streets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

SIMSBURY: The Tariffville parade will assemble on Main Street at 8:30 a.m. Monday and end with a ceremony at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. The Downtown Simsbury parade will assemble on Owens Brook Boulevard near Simsbury Bank at 1 p.m. and conclude with a ceremony on the portico of Eno Memorial Hall.

WEST HARTFORD: The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Monday on Farmington Avenue at the intersection of Woodrow Street with a ceremony afterward at the Veterans Memorial.
