Missing West Hartford Woman Found on Avon Mountain
Alexis Aldrich, 23, spent the night in the woods after getting lost during a hike and encountered a few bears along with way.

West Hartford’s Alexis Aldrich, 23, spent the night in the woods near the top of Avon Mountain after getting lost during a hike on Tuesday afternoon, and even encountered a few bears along the way, before police found her safe on Wednesday morning, according to the Hartford Courant.
A Silver Alert had been issued for Aldrich around 8 a.m. on Wednesday and Lt. Ted Stoneburner said West Hartford Police had been actively searching for her since 1:30 a.m. Police had found her car in an MDC parking lot on Avon Mountain on Tuesday night.
Aldrich, who had left her cellphone at home, was found by police at about 11:20 a.m. near the Heublein tower in Avon, according to the Courant.

Aldrich was then medically cleared and went home with her mother, according to the Courant.
