Mitchell Subaru ‘Loves to Care’ for patients with blood cancer
Mitchell Subaru in Canton is partnering with The Leukemia Lymphoma Society by donating new blankets, arts & crafts kits to CCMC.

As part of the nationwide Subaru Loves to Care month this June, Mitchell Subaru in Canton is partnering with The Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) by donating new blankets and arts & crafts kits to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center to provide support and “warmth” to patients fighting cancer and their families.
“We will deliver the blankets and craft kits to Connecticut Children's Medical Center on June 28,” said Jill Mitchell Gettinger, Community Partnership Development coordinator for the eight-dealership Mitchell Auto Group.
This year, Subaru of America and LLS are bringing to life the Loves to Care month in 476 Subaru retailers. By the end of June, Subaru dealers will donate 38,000 blankets and thousands of messages of hope to cancer patients across the country, as well as donate nearly 500 arts & crafts kits to children battling the disease.

“At Mitchell Subaru, we have a goal of 300 blankets and 30 arts and crafts kits,” said Drew Paris, the dealership’s general manager. “We kick-started the campaign by purchasing 80 blankets courtesy of the Mitchell Family as well as 10 arts and crafts kits.”
He said they will give additional discounts on any new and pre-owned vehicles for any customer who brings a donation in to Mitchell Subaru. Previous customers and members of the general public are welcome to join the campaign by donating as well.

“Here at Mitchell Subaru, our ties to the people of Canton, the businesses and organizations that operate here is of huge importance,” Paris said. “These are not only our customers, but our neighbors and friends, and we owe our decades of growth and success to each, and every one of them. As such, we always look to be involved in local and regional events that share, support and benefit these groups, and we highlight them on our social networks and our dedicated community outreach site, MitchellAutoCares.com.”
