Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • Eastern Connecticut State University recently released the names of five full-time students from Avon who were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester. They are, with majors: Delenn Pascarelli, Visual Arts; Audrey Rossignol, Political Science; Tara Shayler, Elementary Education and History; Alexis Sylvester, Early Childhood Education and Psychology; and Gabriella Zone, Psychology.

Emerson College, Boston MA

  • Three students from Avon have been named to Emerson College's Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester. The requirement to make the Dean's List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher. Avon honorees are Kathryn Casner, Kieran Ferrell and Kenneth Manoj.

University of Delaware, Newark DE

  • Erin Rinehart and Olivia Welter of Avon have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

  • The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that 5,500 undergraduates have qualified for the fall 2017 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, and many other states and nations. To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average. The list includes students who have not yet declared their majors as well as those from all of the University's undergraduate academic colleges. Honorees from Avon are Rachel Asnes, Katherine Captain, Marissa Gaudiana, Isabella Pellino, Taylor Polley and Nicholas Zacchio.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

  • Three Avon residents were among 1,608 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2017 semester: Sarah Sanchez, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in civil engineering; Carolyn Detora, a member of the class of 2018 majoring in mechanical engineering; and Mikayla Fischler, a member of the class of 2020 majoring in robotics engineering, and computer science. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
