Gettysburg College, Gettysburg PA

• At Gettysburg, students use the opportunity to study globally to pursue diverse paths in multiple areas of study. Over 200 students studied globally in the fall 2017 semester, representing over 30 majors in over 25 countries. Kristina Cheyne, OMS - Organizations & Society major from Avon, studied in Spain.

Hofstra University, Hempstead NY

• Zachary Zweibel of Avon excelled during the fall 2017 semester, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the Dean's List.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg VA

• James Madison University is pleased to announce Avon resident Kate Alexandra Nicholson has been named to the president's list for the fall 2017 semester. Students who earn president's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.900 or above. Nicholson is majoring in Communication Studies.
• Jenna Rose Alessio and Abbey Paige Hagan, both of Avon, made the dean's list for the fall 2017 semester. Students who earn dean's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899.

Marist College, Poughkeepsie NY

• Six students from Avon have been named to the Marist College Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester: Danielle Anderson, a member of the Class of 2021 majoring in Games and Emerging Media; James Barnes, a member of the Class of 2021 majoring in Business Administration; Tyler Galske, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Computer Science; Hope Martino, a member of the Class of 2021 majoring in Liberal Arts; Connor Murphy, a member of the Class of 2020 majoring in Biomedical Sciences; and Shelby Tolla, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Mathematics.

University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa AL

• A total of 12,594 students enrolled during the 2017 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. Cole Zelazny of Avon was named to the President's List, while Avon residents Quintin Haines, Kaleigh Sanders and Martin Shelton made the Dean's List.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

• CORRECTION of a recent Dean's List story that included some incorrect student names and did not include first-year students who made our Dean's List.
