New Avon Library Club Merges Literature With TikTok

The Avon Free Public Library has formed a club for older teens and adults that utilizes 'BookTok' for book discussions.

AVON, CT — A new book club that merges old-school reading with the relatively new technology of TikTok is being formed, with the first meeting taking place later this month.

The Avon Free Public Library, located at 281 Country Club Road, Avon, recently announced its new "BookTok Book Club," which will meet on Monday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m.

The club is for adults and teens in Grades 11 and up.

BookTok is an online community of literary buffs who make TikTok videos of their favorite books.

"Come discuss titles popular on BookTok," wrote the library. "We will feature a new title at each meeting."

September’s discussion will be on "The House in the Cerulean Sea" by TJ Klune.
