Playing Lacrosse in Honor of a Friend

Saturday's game will be a memorial to former Avon High School player Kurt Skelley and also a reminder that depression can affect anyone.

“Play for Kurt” will be held at 1 p.m. at the Buckingham Road Recreation Field.

Skelley, a co-captain of the varsity lacrosse team at Avon High School, graduated in 2011 and went on to play at Springfield College in Massachusetts. Last March, he took his own life after struggling with major depressive disorder, a form of depression.
