PRESERVE YOUR FAVORITE TRAVEL MEMORIES WITH A CUSTOM ONE-OF-A-KIND ACCESSORY BY DUNE JEWELRY

Capturing memories from where you've been, where you love and where you're going.®

For many people the perfect place to relax and get away from it all is a visit to the beach. If you’re lucky enough to live near a sandy shore and get to take in the serenity it brings, you are the envy of many. With Dune Jewelry, the Original Beach Sand Jewelry Company®, you can have your very own little slice of heaven with you all year long wearing something from their custom, handcrafted jewelry line.

Dune Jewelry is a patented, keepsake, collectible jewelry line made with primarily sterling silver along with different metals such as brass and stainless steel, and beach sand from around the globe spanning all seven continents. Each piece showcases the natural beauty of the sand’s origin. They are modern, beautiful accessories with meaning… accessories that hold a memory! “People have such a strong emotional attachment to specific beaches and jewelry is a great way to keep those memories alive and with you at all times,” says Holly Daniels Christensen, Founder and Creator of Dune Jewelry.

With thousands of sands in their Sandbank®, Dune custom makes each and every order in their Boston, Massachusetts studio. Their Sandbank® keeps growing, almost daily, thanks to customers sending in sand for their very own custom pieces. The Sand Artists only need a tiny bit of sand for most designs. About a soda cap full is enough for any of Dune’s creations.

There are two different processes that are involved in creating Dune Jewelry. The first process requires cleansing, layering and polishing the sand and resin to form a domed, gem-like finish. The second process calls for the designers to hand sand the piece to “open up” the grains of sand inlaid into sterling silver for a flat, matte finish.

This is a very detailed, intricate process, which makes Dune Jewelry’s collection extremely unique. All items have a lifetime warranty, come with care instructions and literature that indicates the source of the sand.

Capturing memories from where you’ve been, where you love and where you’re going® is the guiding principle of this Boston based jewelry manufacturer. This has been a dream in the making for self-taught jewelry designer Christensen. “To be able to combine my fond memories and love I have for the beach and generate rare, beach inspired accessories with my dedicated and creative team is something I have always wanted to do. We don’t just sell jewelry, we preserve cherished moments, we sell memories that people will keep with them for a lifetime,” says Christensen.

Dune’s prices range from $28-$380 and they donate a portion of all proceeds to a variety of coastal preservation programs. Their unique line can be found in over 400 retailers worldwide and includes necklaces, earrings, bracelet, Sandbeads® that fit on all interchangeable bracelets, bangles, key chains, tie bars, wedding bands and more.

Recently Dune has been working with sand from golf courses to create exceptional tournament gifts as well as baseball parks including Fenway Park in Boston, MA.

About Dune Jewelry’s Founder and Creator Holly Daniels Christensen

After working in the Boston real estate market for 14 years, this self-taught jewelry designer decided it was time to bring her dreams to reality by becoming an entrepreneur and launching Dune Jewelry on September 28th, 2010. Originally from Cape Cod, Holly spent her summers after high school learning to surf at Marconi Beach in Wellfleet and although her surfing skills never did amount to much, those days of skipping work and heading to the beach will always be cherished. Holly began making beach sand jewelry for friends and family in 2007 with her close, childhood friend Kellie Quinn of ‘Beaches and Snowflakes™.’ Soon it became apparent that nearly everyone she knew had a special memory or exciting adventure that took place on the coast of New England, the shores of Italy, the beaches of California, the Sahara Desert or as Rupert Holmes sings…”in the dunes of the Cape.” Holly hopes that all of the wonderful people who have helped Dune grow will keep spreading the word and making new coastal memories to be cherished and celebrated by Dune Jewelry.
