Progress Continues On New Avon Emergency Dispatch System

The project is expected to be finished next month, with testing to occur before the system becomes fully operational.

AVON, CT — A new, state-of-the-art emergency communications system should be up and running by the middle of next month, town officials said this week.

According to the Town of Avon, staff members are working with Motorola and the State of Connecticut to upgrade the town's public safety communications system.

When complete in mid-August and officially in use later on in the year, the new system will improve the capabilities of police, fire, and ambulance personnel to get to where they need to go and to receive vital information.
