Rep. LeGeyt Lends a Helping Hand at Avon's Mobile Foodshare

The site distributes food to more than 70 people in need every other Tuesday.

State Rep. Tim LeGeyt recently visited a Mobile Foodshare site in Avon, where he helped to distribute fresh food to those in need.

“Mobile Foodshare is such an important program in our community and I am grateful to have the opportunity to participate,” said LeGeyt. “Hunger is not only an issue that affects families in our big cities, but it also affects people in our smaller towns and communities. Community supports, such as Foodshare, are an important resource for those who are in need to have local access to fresh, nutritional produce and food items. I commend the Foodshare organization for their continued and dedicated efforts in combating hunger in our communities.”

LeGeyt, a longtime supporter of Foodshare and volunteer at Mobile Foodshare, also had the opportunity to meet Foodshare’s new CEO, James Arena-DeRosa.
