Update: Road Open In Avon After Vehicle Slams Pole

The accident happened Sunday night on Route 167, with the road still closed Monday morning.

AVON, CT — A state road was closed through early Monday afternoon after a motor vehicle slammed into a pole Sunday night, knocking wires down in the process.

As of 1:19 p.m. Monday, however, the state Department of Transportation said the crash was cleared and the situation rectified.

According to the DOT Monday morning, Route 167 in Avon was closed between Bronson Road and Kingbridge.

According to the DOT, the vehicle took down a utility pole and wires at about 10:16 p.m. Sunday.
