Route 44 Underpass Adjacent To Avon Village Center Closed

AVON, CT — State construction workers have already began maintenance work inside the Route 44 underpass at the local rails-to-trails location at the Avon Village Center.

The state Department of Transportation issued an advisory earlier this week, saying work had begun July 26 and was expected to last about a week.

As a result, the underpass will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each week day while work is occurring and trail users are asked to navigate around it.
