Sen. Seminara Collecting Food At Avon Forum

She serves Norfolk, Hartland, Canton, Simsbury, New Hartford, Avon, Barkhamsted, Colebrook, and parts of Granby, Harwinton, and Torrington.

AVON, CT — State Sen. Lisa Seminara, R-Avon, who serves the 8th Senate District, is hosting a special forum Saturday in Avon to discuss legislative actions during the past session.

Meanwhile, Seminara also invites constituents to stop by and donate food to local food banks.

Her forum will take place at BeanZ & Co., 11 E. Main St., Village Market Place, Avon, on Saturday, June 1, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Seminara's 8th Senate District towns include Norfolk, Hartland, Canton, Simsbury, New Hartford, Avon, Barkhamsted, Colebrook, and parts of Granby, Harwinton and Torrington.

"Seminara will recap the recently concluded legislative session and legislation she supported to improve the quality of life for seniors, the disabled, and children," reads an event announcement out of her office.

According to Seminara, the spring and summer months can be a vulnerable time for food banks, who often stockpile donations during the holiday season, but struggle prior.

Items being sought include macaroni and cheese; peanut butter, canned goods, pasta sauce, cereal (except Cheerios); and other non-perishable food items.
