Skyrocketing Cookie Chain Coming To West Hartford, Avon and Newington
The bakeries offer a wide variety of large, thick creations in a signature pink box.
If you happen to see Cookie Monster taking a break from Sesame Street in coming months and visiting central Connecticut, there's good reason.
Crumbl Cookies, the Logan, Utah,-based gourmet cookie chain is coming to West Hartford, Avon and Newington in coming months.
Crumbl's offerings are noteworthy, as their baked creations are about the size of a doughnut and are so large, the stores sell special cutters so they can be shared in smaller bites.

The types of cookies vary, though old-fashioned chocolate chip is the one mainstay. The other types can change by the day and customers can check via social media what is available.
The best way to describe Crumbl's story is nothing short of skyrocketing, as its origins trace back to a couple of pals — Sawyer Hemsley and Jason McGowan — in Logan, Utah, a college town where Utah State University is located.

With Hemsley still attending school at Utah State, the duo only opened their first store in 2017.
In 2023, there are more than 600 stores nationwide, a Crumbl craze fueled by viral Tik Tok videos and a strong social media presence.
And three more are slated to open in coming weeks and months in central Connecticut, according to Crumbl spokesperson Candyce Paige. They are:
• The West Hartford Crumbl Cookies is scheduled to open late spring or early summer 2023.
It will be located at 1445 New Britain Ave, West Hartford, which is in the recently renovated shopping plaza across the street from the Westfarms Mall.
• The Avon location is scheduled to open at the end of summer 2023 at an undisclosed address in town.
Paige said that location would be released once construction is underway.
• The Newington location is also scheduled to open spring/summer of 2023.
According to Paige, there is no firm address for that site either.
But the cookie bakery is slated to be located as part of a massive shopping center development underway off the Berlin Turnpike.
Framingham-based Grossman Development Group (GDG), in partnership with Callahan, Inc. and Long Wharf Capital, has launched construction at Meadow Commons, a 24-acre mixed-use destination in Newington.
Crumbl currently has Connecticut bakery shops in Manchester, North Haven, Fairfield and Danbury, with Manchester being the first to open in the state in 2021.
While the three new bakeries are slated to open sometime this year, the cookies could crumble in another direction for Crumbl Cookies, as common construction issues these days could impact the developments' timelines, Paige warned.
"Please note, these are all subject to change depending on construction and supply chains," wrote Paige in a statement.
