Where: Downtown Collinsville, Main Street
Event: Dads and families can watch a mini golf build-off in the morning and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. play a round on a unique, hand-built course. Music, a craft fair and merchant open houses will be featured, as well.

Dad, Here's the Story

Where: Barnes and Nobles, 110 Albany Turnpike, No. 305, Canton, The Shoppes at the Farmington Valley
Event: Dads can come with their kids to a Father's Day storytime, featuring readings of Me and My Dad! by Alison Richie and A Father's Song by Milford author Janet Lawler. Fun fact: Lawler has a dog named Patches! There will be craft activities following the reading.
When: Saturday, June 18, 11 a.m.

Just Grillin'

Where: , 395 West Main St., Avon
Specials: If your dad is known as The Grill Man, there is a Father's Day gift display in the store that includes Vermont Country Grillstones, beer can chicken roasters, grilling salts, rubs and marinades. Featured meats include 32-ounce Cowboy Steaks and steak tips, as well as buffalo, venison, alligator, boar and ostrich cuts. The Meat House is also giving out free lottery tickets to any father who comes into the store on Saturday and Sunday. The Meat House Father's Day recipes are uploaded to this article.

Daddy Dining

Special: Dinner entrees are $10 for fathers
When: The entire month of June. Papacelle's dinner hours are 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays and 5 p.m. to midnight on Saturdays. The restaurant is closed Sundays, but the deal is available if you want to celebrate with your dad any other day of the week.

Where: The Counter, 50 Memorial Road, West Hartford, Blue Back Square
Special: Dads can get a free 1/3 pound hamburger by asking for the BFD, or Big Freakin' Deal. In order to obtain the deal, each dad must have a family member with him who buys a hamburger of equal or greater value.

Special: Dads can eat for half price for brunch, lunch or dinner entrees with the purchase of a second entree of equal or lesser value.

Special: The tavern is offering a Father's Day barbecue sampler platter for $12.95. All dads receive a complimentary beer with the special.

Behind the Wheel

Where: At Westfarms mall, on the lower level in the Nordstrom wing and in Center Court
Special: The Father's Day Auto Show presented by Harte Auto Group. Dads can peruse new cars, take a test drive and receive a $25 gas card. Those who actually buy a car by June 30 get a $200 Nordstrom Gift Card and the chance to win a $250 Brooks Brothers gift card.
