Earlier this month, the Avon Lions visited various childcare providers in Avon with a digital retinal camera. The camera detects various abnormalities in eye development, and within seconds can provide its analysis.
Of the 217 children screened, 15 were referred for a comprehensive eye examination. What sometimes gets passed off as a lack of attention or other behavioral issues is actually an inability to focus clearly.
