State Sen. Hosting Crime Forum In Avon Tuesday

The forum will take place at the Avon Senior Center on Tuesday night.

AVON, CT — A local state senator is hosting a special public forum in Avon on Tuesday that will focus on crime and how to combat it.

The event — hosted by state Sen. Lisa Seminara, D-Avon — will take place at 7 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center, 635 W. Avon Road.

Seminara serves the 8th Senate District, which encompasses Norfolk, Hartland, Canton, Simsbury, New Hartford, Avon, Barkhamsted, Colebrook, and parts of Granby, Harwinton and Torrington.

“The uptick in crime in our district as well as across our state is a major concern,” Seminara said. “From ‘street takeovers’ to vehicle thefts to violent crimes, I look forward to this informational forum’s topics. I encourage area residents to join us at the Avon Senior Center on Tuesday to talk about potential policy solutions that will make our communities safer.”
