The Valley Crier No Longer in Print

The Farmington Valley "direct mail shopper" closed on May 31.

The Valley Crier has closed for business, according to the company's website.

"Thanks for visiting The Valley Crier," a notice on the website's homepage reads. "Sadly, the last edition of the paper was May 31, 2011 and we are no longer in print. Questions? Please call 888-611-1312."

The Simsbury-based publication offered classified, advertising and calendar options and circulated in Simsbury, East Granby, Granby, Avon, Canton, Farmington, West Hartford, New Hartford, Bloomfield, Windsor and Southwick, MA.

Patch reached out to Robert Pawlowski, the publisher and editor of Distinctive Directories, which owned The Valley Crier, but he declined to comment on the reason for the closure.

Distinctive Directories also publishes The Valley Book, The West Hartford Book, The Glastonbury Book and The Shoreline Book.
