Third Harvest Quilt Show, Oct. 24- 25,2015

See 200+ quilts -- modern mixed media art, traditional designs and antique quilts-- all in one exciting show at Avon Congregational Church

Avon, Ct. -- Enjoy a dizzying array of over 200 quilts, from the latest of mixed media art quilts to antique quilts, on Oct 24 (10 AM- 5PM) & Sunday Oct. 25 (12 Noon- 5PM), at Avon Congregational Church , 6 W. Main St, Avon, CT. Quilts will be beautifully displayed in the Church’s stunning 1819 sanctuary on the pews, hanging from the balcony, in the classrooms, and hallways. The show features quilts submitted from quilters and quilt owners from the Farmington Valley, Connecticut and throughout New England. Of special interest will be the international and national award- winning quilts by artists Christine Fries Ureel of Vermont and Susan Vassalo of Windsor, CT .

Show attendees and others will have a chance to own one of the beautiful quilts created by a Simsbury resident. Her original modern design quilt called “Many Colors, One Spirit” (see photo) is being offered through a raffle to benefit the community services provided by the church, and tickets will be on sale prior to, and at the show. To add to the fun, the show will also include vendors of gifts, crafts, and related items, raffle baskets, and a Cafe.

Take an afternoon, morning or day trip to this beautiful classic New England setting at the corner of Routes 44 and 10/202 in Avon with great restaurants and unique shops nearby. $8 admission fee at the door.
