Tree Lands On House In Storm-Ravaged Avon: AVFD

AVON, CT — Local town and school officials have announced multiple closures, with the fire department urging caution in hard-hit Avon, with one tree landing on a house.

City "multiple" power outages at many Avon schools, the local school system announce this morning that schools are closed Monday.

Meanwhile, the Avon Senior Center was also closed as motorists dodged both raindrops and tree limbs on local roadways.

The Avon Volunteer Fire Department Monday, even, posted images of one massive tree that came down in a resident's yard on Pinetree Lane.

The upper portions of the tree landed on top of the home, though the AVFD did not report any injuries.
