Avon, Ct. --- All are invited (dogs and their people too) to Brownstone Bakery for Dogs, on Saturday, September 12, from 12 noon - 3 p.m., for an unusual Trunk Show. Bring in your old dog collar to trade, and get 20% off the purchase of a new Up Country Collar.

A special bonus will be that the oldest and smelliest collar traded in will win a $25 Brownstone Bakery for Dogs cake. The winner will be determined by several judging standards: the opinion of co-owners Roger Howard and Stephanie Bunnell, comments from customers, and the store dog’s reactions to each swapped collar.

The Bakery will serve special mini-muttcakes (cupcakes) for dogs, baked for the event. Dogs are always welcome in the store, where aromas keep noses at full-sniff and tails at full-wag.

Up Country has been designing distinctive ribbon collars, harnesses, beds and accessories for the past 30 years. Most of Up Country’s products are made in their Rhode Island facility and they have over 120 collar designs and dozens of lifestyle accessories.

Brownstone Bakery for Dogs features healthy dog treats and food, toys for both gentle teeth and rough play, a wide variety of collars, leashes and harnesses, and fluffy dog beds. It’s located at 16 Ensign Drive - behind Country Curtains and just off Route 44 near the Town Hall complex. Hours are Monday-Wednesday and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m; Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m; Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
