Unload Empty Bottles/Cans With Avon Scouts
Avon Boy Scout Troop 271 Aug. 24 is hosting its annual bottle/can drive to raise money for future summer camp opportunities.
AVON, CT — If your basement is being taken over by bags and boxes of empty drink bottles that you haven't taken to the recycling center yet, a local Boy Scout troop can help.
This weekend, Avon Boy Scout Troop 274 is hosting its annual bottle and can drive, where your empties can translate into an opportunity for local scouts to broaden their horizons.
The drive will take place Saturday, Aug. 24, from 8 a.m. to noon at the West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Road, Avon.

"Friendly and courteous scouts will unload all of your redeemable bottles and cants from your vehicle and, even, sort them," wrote the troop.
Scouts will take care of what can be a time-consuming and unwelcome chore: getting rid of empty bottles/cans.

Proceeds from the donated bottles/cans will help scouts attend future camps.
