Unload Those Bottles/Cans With Avon Scouts
Avon Boy Scout Troop 274 is hosting a can/bottle drive Saturday to raise funds for summer programs.
AVON, CT — If the thought of unloading those unsightly bottles and cans that have accumulated in your basement is enough to cause dread, local Boy Scouts have an answer.
Avon Boy Scout Troop 274 on Saturday, June 1, is hosting a bottle/can drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Road, Avon.
All folks have to do is show up with their bags/boxes full of bottles/cans (all must be redeemable) and "friendly and courteous" scouts will unload them from their vehicles.

Event organizers say this is a great way to avoid the lines at the supermarket or coping with machines that, suddenly, malfunction or fill up.
Plus, by letting the scouts take care of your redeemable bottles/cans, you will be doing some community good as well.
