Upcoming Avon Library Events Include Several on Civil Rights
The events are part of the Changing America series.

The following events are part of the Changing America series of exhibits, programs and films that examine landmark events in American history from The Emancipation Proclamation, January 1, 1863 to the March in Washington, August 8, 1963. The Changing America project is hosted by the Avon Public Library November 1 through December 13. All events are free, no registration is required. The Avon Public Library is at 281 Country Club Road, Avon, CT 06001. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 10:00 am to 8:30 pm, Wednesday 10:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Friday and Saturday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Ongoing: Exhibit, “The Emancipation Proclamation, 1863 and the March on Washington, 1963. “ The first stop of a national traveling exhibit that visually highlights one hundred years of civil rights milestones from the Emancipation Proclamation to the March On Washington. Open during regular library hours, except when a program is scheduled, November 1 through December 13.
