Volunteers Sought To Help Avon's Causes

The Avon Library Tuesday, April 23, is hosting a volunteer fair for folks looking for local organizations to serve.

AVON, CT — If you have yourself to give to your community, a special event next week in Avon will help you find an organization to help.

With April being National Volunteer Month, the Avon Free Public Library is hosting "Meet & Greet Avon's Volunteers" on Tuesday, April 23, at 7 p.m. in the library, 281 Country Club Road, Avon.

The purpose of the event is to match up people looking to give of themselves with local organizations looking to benefit.

Among the nonprofits expected to have tables set up are: The Friends of the Avon Free Public Library; Garden Club of Avon; the Avon Volunteer Fire Department; Americal Legion Post 201; Avon Historical Society; Avon Land Trust; Avon Lions Club; and Avon's Community Emergency Response Team.

"Representatives from local nonprofit organizations will be at the library to answer your questions on how you can make an impact in your community and causes you care about," wrote event organizers.
