'Wedding Singer' on Tap For Avon Summer Theater

AVON, CT - The Avon Summer Theater is presenting the musical comedy, "The Wedding Singer" this month.

This summer’s production marks the 55th continuous summer musicals presented by the Avon Summer Theater.

In "The Wedding Singer," students from all over the Farmington Valley are coming together to present a fun comedy based on the hit movie featuring 80’s-style music.

“The Wedding Singer" is a comedic Rock musical with original songs that capture the feeling and essence of

what it was like to be in the ‘80’s,” summarizes Diana Lawler, the music director. “It does for the '80s what 'Hairspray' did for the '60s.”

Performance dates are July 22, 23 at 7:30 p.m., and July 24 at 2 p.m. at Avon High School Auditorium, 510 West Avon Road.

Doors open 30 minutes before curtain. The show runs approximately 2 hours, with a 15-minute intermission. Tickets are $15 adult and $10 for student/senior, available at the Avon High School office beginning July 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. or at the door on the nights of the performances. Payable by cash or check. (No online or credit card ticket sales are available.)
