What's The Buzz? Learn Beekeeping At Avon Library Event
Backyard beekeeper David Pietrowski will speak about bees and beekeeping this week at the Avon Free Public Library.
AVON, CT — The Avon Free Public Library will host an in-person presentation on bees and backyard beekeeping Thursday, May 14, at 6:30 p.m.
The program, titled “The Buzz on Beekeeping,” will feature David Pietrowski, a backyard beekeeper with nearly 10 years of experience.
According to event organizers, Pietrowski will discuss bee facts, beginner beekeeping basics, and the equipment needed to start beekeeping and collecting honey.

The presentation will also include demonstrations of beekeeping gear, hives, and a model hive.
Organizers said that, weather permitting, attendees may also see live bees during the program.

The event will be held at the Avon Free Public Library, 281 Country Club Road in Avon.
Library officials described the presentation as an introduction for residents interested in learning more about bees and beekeeping as a hobby.
