When The Dinner Table Becomes Art, Avon's 'Tablescapes' Event To Raise Money For Historical Society

It returns March 13–14 at North House in Avon with 30 creative table displays and a tableware tag sale benefiting Avon 250.

AVON, CT — The Avon Historical Society will host its seventh annual "Tablescapes 2026" fundraiser on Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14, at the historic North House, featuring dozens of creative table displays and a tableware tag sale to support local history programs.

The event will showcase 30 themed table settings created by local designers, florists, businesses, artists, and residents.

Displays will be arranged throughout the Belle Ballroom of the North House, a colonial-era inn located along the historic Providence–Albany Turnpike, now U.S. Route 44 in Avon (1 Nod Road).

Attendees will be able to vote on their favorite designs, with first-, second-, and third-place prizes and an honorable mention awarded based on public voting.

A “Tableware Tag Sale,” returning by popular demand, will run both days of the event.

The sale will feature gently used, antique, and vintage dishes, platters, bowls, glassware, barware, silverware, and baking supplies. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the historical society.

Admission to TABLESCAPES includes access to the tag sale.

Tickets cost $20 and are available in advance online or at the door.

“This is our seventh TABLESCAPES, and we welcome new and returning local artisans, gardeners, decorators, and residents who will show off their talents with gorgeous themes and ideas,” said Carol Bradovchak, event co-chair for the Avon Historical Society. “We welcome the public to view these gorgeous tables, just right for every occasion.”

Proceeds from this year’s event will support Avon America’s 250, the town’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence in 1776.

The townwide initiative launched in September 2025 and will continue through 2026 with events organized by more than a dozen local groups.

Organizers say the funds will help offset costs for several large summer programs planned as part of the anniversary celebration.

Current sponsors include Computers by Lee, LLC, Ethan Allen in Canton, and Miller Farms through its Miller Farms Cares and Oma’s Pride initiatives. Additional sponsors are still being sought.

Tickets and more information are available through the Avon Historical Society website or by contacting the event’s organizers.
