9-Year-Old Girl's Heroic Actions Save Family In New Britain Fire
A girl's quick thinking during a Sunday fire is credited with saving families from the blaze.

NEW BRITAIN, CT - The New Britain Fire Department is recognizing a nine-year-old girl who's quick thinking and reaction helped save her and her family during a recent fire. The girl, Coryn Perry, informed her parents who then called 911.
"Because of her quick thinking all occupants of this three family home were able to get out safely and firefighters were able to keep the damage to a minimum," the department said in a post. "Coryn credits knowing what to do because she remembered what the firefighters told her when they visited the school during a fire safety presentation. Well done Coryn. You are our hero."
The fire was at the porch of a home on Chestnut Street, the New Britain Herald reported. There no injuries and the Red Cross assisted those affected by the fire at the three-family building.
