Residents of Berlin, Wethersfield, Newington, and Rocky Hill are being encouraged to sign up for the "Walk This May Four-Town Movement Challenge," a month-long initiative promoting physical activity and friendly competition among area communities.
The program runs from May 1 through May 31
Organizers are urging participants to register in advance and begin tracking their activity throughout May.
The challenge is coordinated by the Central Connecticut Health District out of Rocky Hill, which serves all four towns.
It allows users to log steps and other activities through the Terryberry BeWell step-tracking platform or a connected fitness device.
Organizers say some participants may be eligible to receive a pedometer while supplies last.
Participants can register online, by phone, or via QR code, and those who took part in previous years may already be enrolled automatically.
Officials say the initiative is designed to encourage healthier habits while fostering community engagement, with each logged activity contributing to both individual wellness and the participant’s town's standing in the competition.
