The opportunity is open to teens interested in community service, working with children, and supporting library programs.

According to the library, volunteer hours can count toward community service requirements and National Honor Society service hours.

Teen volunteers can also earn additional Scratch Tickets through the library’s Teen Summer Reading Program for each completed shift.

Officials said all interested volunteers must complete a Teen Volunteer Application, including returning volunteers.

After submitting an application, teens will receive information about attending a required orientation session.

Following orientation, volunteers will receive access to the library’s online scheduling system for selecting work shifts.

Applications and additional information are available through the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library website.

Questions can also be directed to the library’s Children’s Department by email at or by phone at 860-828-7127.
