BERLIN, CT — The Berlin-Peck Memorial Library has launched a new online catalog system that allows patrons to search materials, access accounts, and manage holds.
Library officials announced that the new catalog is now available at catalog.berlinpeck.org and can also be accessed through the library's website.
Staff said account information has been transferred to the new system, but existing PINs were not migrated for privacy and security reasons.
Patrons logging in for the first time will need to create a new library password, though they may reuse their previous PIN if they choose.
To reset a password, users must select "Log In" from the catalog homepage, click "Reset Password," and enter the 14-digit barcode number found on the back of their library card.
A password reset link will then be sent by email.
The library has also created a guide to help patrons navigate the new system.
The guide includes instructions for searching the catalog, logging into accounts, placing holds, and linking multiple accounts. Printed copies are available at the library.
To help residents become familiar with the platform, the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library will offer a series of drop-in assistance sessions. No registration is required.
Upcoming help sessions include:
Library officials said they are continuing to refine and troubleshoot the new system and encouraged patrons to contact the library if they need assistance.
