BERLIN, CT — Fast-acting local firefighters staved off a potential conflagration Monday when a truck cab burst into flames at a gas pump off the Berlin Turnpike.
Berlin firefighters responded to a vehicle fire Monday afternoon at a gas station on the Berlin Turnpike, according to the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department.
The department said Engines 8 and 7, along with Squad 4, were dispatched to the Pit Stop gas station and convenience store after a vehicle caught fire next to a fuel pump.
Firefighters quickly contained the blaze to the truck, preventing it from spreading to the gas pump or other areas of the property, according to the department.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
The Berlin Volunteer Fire Department shared details of the response in a social media post Monday evening.
