BERLIN, CT — The Town of Berlin is advising residents that Paper Goods Pond and Railroad Pond will undergo aquatic vegetation treatment on Wednesday, July 15, with temporary restrictions on water use in the treatment areas.
According to the town, the pesticide application is scheduled for between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The treatment will use the herbicides Imazamox, Flumioxazin, and Diquat under Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection permits.
Residents are asked to avoid using water within the treatment areas for certain activities until the following dates:
The town encouraged residents and visitors to review the posted notice for complete information about the treatment and applicable precautions.
The treatment is being conducted by Water & Wetland, an aquatic lake management contractor out of Massachusetts.
The company said the treatment notice will remain posted for at least seven days after the application or until the latest restriction date has passed.
