BERLIN, CT — The Berlin Democratic Town Committee will host a "peaceful protest" on Saturday, July 25, calling attention to immigration enforcement, U.S. involvement in overseas conflicts, and election integrity.

The event, titled "Enough is Enough: Berlin Peaceful Protest," is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon at the corner of Lower Lane and Farmington Avenue.

According to organizers, the demonstration will focus on three issues: opposition to what they describe as "aggressive U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enforcement actions," ending ongoing U.S. involvement in wars abroad, and protecting free and fair elections.

"This is about ordinary people in Berlin showing up for one another and for the democracy we all share," said Dani Morisse-Corsetti, chairperson of the Berlin Democratic Town Committee. "You don't have to travel to a state capital or a big city to make your voice heard. Change starts on the corner where you live. We're inviting every neighbor who cares about these issues to stand with us on Saturday."

Organizers said the event is intended to be peaceful and family-friendly.

Participants are encouraged to bring signs, water, friends and neighbors. The protest will take place rain or shine.

The Berlin Democratic Town Committee said the event is open to residents of all ages.

The committee said it organizes civic events, supports local candidates and works to keep Berlin residents informed and engaged in the democratic process.
