Host Families Sought For 8 Berlin HS Exchange Students

BERLIN, CT — Host families are being sought for eight Spanish high school students who are scheduled to spend three weeks attending Berlin High School this fall.

The students are participating through Northwest International Student Exchange and are expected to arrive Aug. 23 and stay through Sept. 13.

During the program, the students will attend school, live with a local host family and experience American culture. The students speak English.

Hosts do not need to have children at home. Singles, couples, families with children, empty nesters, retirees, and seniors are eligible to apply.

According to program information, host families provide three meals a day and a bedroom with a bed.

Students may share a bedroom with a host sibling of the same gender and similar age.

Hosts are also responsible for transportation to activities when needed, while the school provides transportation to and from Berlin High School.

Host families receive a $400 subsidy for each student they host, according to the program.
