BERLIN, CT — Berlin has welcomed Kevin Bielmeier as the town's new economic development director, with officials saying he brings years of experience working with communities across Connecticut.
Town officials introduced Bielmeier during a recent gathering at Good Cause Gifts, a nonprofit social enterprise at 384 Main St. in Berlin.
The town said the event provided an opportunity for conversation and for community members to meet the new economic development director.
Bielmeier brings several years of economic development experience in Connecticut communities to his new position, according to the town.
Officials said they are looking forward to the ideas and opportunities he will bring to Berlin.
The gathering was hosted by Good Cause Gifts, which operates with a mission of creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities across Connecticut.
Profits from purchases at the store help support that mission, according to the organization.
Town officials thanked Good Cause Gifts for hosting the gathering as well as community members who attended to welcome Bielmeier.
