• Berlin Police Urge Drivers To Use Caution As Students Return To School (patch.com) — As Berlin students head back to school this Thursday, local police are asking drivers to slow down, watch for school buses and be extra alert in school zones. The department warns that increased bus traffic may lengthen commutes and urges motorists to plan ahead so Berlin's students, families and staff can start the year safely.
   

• BERLIN SCOOP: McDonald's & Goodwill project update (theconnecticutscoop.com) — A long-vacant corner at Deming Road and the Berlin Turnpike is being rebuilt into a mixed retail and industrial complex featuring a large Goodwill store and a new McDonald's. Construction is well underway, with a new turnpike entrance and remediation of the future parking area in progress, though no opening dates have been announced yet.
