Eversource said crews will inspect transmission line rights-of-way in north-central Connecticut to identify conditions that could threaten electric reliability and determine whether issues need to be addressed through the company's vegetation management program.

The inspections are part of Eversource's routine maintenance and storm preparedness work during hurricane and summer storm season, according to the utility.

Helicopter patrols are scheduled in the following communities:

Eversource said residents could see either a blue-and-white helicopter with tail number N411DD or a navy-and-silver helicopter with tail number N1431W.

The utility conducts inspections and other work throughout the year to identify potential problems and maintain the electric grid.

The Aug. 27 and Sept. 3 flight schedules are subject to weather conditions.
