• DOT to replace traffic control signals across state (newbritainherald.com) — Berlin drivers should know that CTDOT plans to fully replace traffic signal equipment at the Route 9 New Britain ramps at State Route 572 and the theater driveway in town. Design work is expected to finish by May 2028, with construction anticipated to begin in spring 2029, including upgraded pedestrian signals and accessibility features funded by state and federal dollars.
   

• Preps underway for potential weekend nor'easter (audacy.com) — With a possible weekend nor'easter approaching Connecticut, Eversource—speaking from Berlin—is staging hundreds of line and tree crews to handle likely outages. Residents are urged to prepare emergency kits, avoid flooded basements with electrical wiring, and check on family and elderly neighbors as high winds and heavy rain move through the state.
