BERLIN, CT — Berlin's police officers, firefighters, and ambulance personnel will be honored this weekend as a local Rotary organization hosts its eighth annual breakfast recognizing the community's first responders.
The Kensington-Berlin Rotary Foundation and Rotary Club of Kensington-Berlin will host the eighth annual First Responders Appreciation Breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Kensington Fire House, 880 Farmington Ave.
The breakfast will recognize members of the Berlin Police Department; Berlin, East Berlin, Kensington and South Kensington fire departments; and Hunter's Ambulance Service.
Organizers said the event is intended to recognize the sacrifices of Berlin's first responders and thank them for their service by providing breakfast before they begin their day.
First responders attending the event will also have opportunities to receive gift cards and door prizes, according to an event flyer.
Entertainment will be provided by the a cappella group Ringtones.
"The breakfast honors and celebrates the dedicated first responders who serve our community," the Town of Berlin said in promoting the event.
The breakfast is supported by various community sponsors and businesses.
