BERLIN, CT — The pedestrian bridge at Veterans Memorial Park has been closed until further notice as the town prepares to replace the structure, officials announced.
The Town of Berlin announced the closure in a Facebook post Tuesday, advising residents that the bridge will remain inaccessible while the replacement project moves forward.
The bridge is part of the Veterans Memorial Park pedestrian boardwalk and walkway system, located near Massirio Drive and Farmington Avenue.
The structure features a timber deck that spans a wetland area within the park.
Town officials did not provide a timeline for the replacement project or an anticipated reopening date.
The town said it will provide updates as work progresses and notify residents when the bridge is ready to reopen.
Residents who use the park should plan accordingly while the bridge remains closed.
