Bench Placed To Honor Berlin Land Trust Advocate

A new bench has been installed at Ragged Mountain in Berlin to honor a beloved supporter of the Berlin Land Trust.

BERLIN, CT — A beloved supporter of local conservation efforts has been honored with a place where folks can take a rest and enjoy the fruits of his longtime labor of love.

The Berlin Land Trust has installed a memorial bench at the base of Ragged Mountain on West Lane in Berlin in honor of the late trust supporter Francis "Frank" Harvey of New Britain.

Harvey was an avid hiker, outdoorsman, nature lover, and former member and friend of the Berlin Land Trust, according to the trust.

The purchase and installation of the bench and plaque were made possible by generous donations to the Berlin Land Trust from Frank Harvey’s family and friends.

"The Berlin Land Trust welcomes all who love the outdoors to rest in the peace of nature on Frank’s bench at this spectacular traprock mountain ridge," wrote the Berlin Land Trust in a statement.
