Berlin Council OKs Dump Truck, Tractor Purchases
The funding for both is within current fiscal year surplus accounts.

BERLIN, CT — Town officials last week approved two purchases to add to the town's fleet of public works department vehicles.
In separate, 7-0 votes, the Berlin Town Council Feb. 7 voted to purchase a used, 1-ton dump truck at a cost not to exceed $35,000.
In addition, council members voted 7-0 to purchase a used 40-horsepower, pull tractor for an amount not to exceed $40,000.

The dump truck would be utilized by employees at the municipal garage for public works services.
Meanwhile, the tractor would be utilized at the town-owned and operated Timberlin Golf Club for various golf course maintenance projects.

According to Berlin Town Manager Arosha Jayawickrema, funding for both is within the 2022 surplus budget line item, but council approval was necessary for the project to move on.
