Berlin Fishing Derbies Get Boost From Lions Club
The Berlin Parks and Recreation Department recently received a big check from the Berlin Lions Club.
BERLIN, CT —Thanks to the local Lions Club, the town's annual fishing derbies in April now have a bit of a financial boost.
The Berlin Lions Club recently donated $1,000 to the Berlin Parks and Recreation Department to aid the town's popular fishing derby events.
Every year in April, the town hosts two separate derbies in consecutive weeks at Sage Park Pond, located at 1499 Berlin Turnpike.

One event is for children aged 3-10, while the other a week later is for youngsters aged 8-15.
Details for the 2024 derbies have yet to be unveiled, but last year, the derbies were free for all participants with different age groups featuring prizes regarding the fish caught that day.
